Tissue From Mice With SLE

For analysis of gene expression, protein production and biomarkers

Snap frozen tissue from mouse strains that spontaneously develop disease similar to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Save time aging mice as disease develops; tissue is available from stock with no lead time.

Tissue from young mice (prior to proteinuria development) - negative control for disease
Tissue from cyclophosphamide-treated mice - positive control for treatment

Tissue from (NZB x NZW)F1 mice

From female (NZB x NZW)F1 hybrid (NZBWF1) mice at 15 to 52 weeks of age.

These crossbred mice spontaneously develop a polygenic autoimmune disease closely resembling systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in human patients. Anti-nuclear and anti-dsDNA antibodies are detectable as early as 20 weeks of age. Proteinuria and kidney pathology (immune complex glomerulonephritis) are observed at 36 to 45 weeks.

Cat # Mouse strain Treatment/proteinuria score Price
LZ-0100 (NZB x NZW)F1 hybrid (NZBWF1) Cyclophosphamide-treated (no or mild proteinuria; < 30 mg protein/dL) $ 625
LZ-0101 (NZB x NZW)F1 hybrid (NZBWF1) Vehicle-treated or naïve (severe proteinuria; > 500 mg protein/dL) $ 715
LZ-0102 (NZB x NZW)F1 hybrid (NZBWF1) Naïve, 15 to 18 weeks old (no or mild proteinuria; < 30 mg protein/dL) $ 338

Tissue from MRL/lpr mice

From female MRL/lpr mice at 6 to 22 weeks of age.

MRL/lpr mice are homozygous for spontaneous mutation in the Fas gene, and develop lymphadenopathy (enlarged lymph nodes), splenomegaly (enlarged spleen) and systemic autoimmunity.

Autoimmune responses occur spontaneously in these mice, resulting in arthritis and glomerulonephritis resembling SLE in human patients. Anti-nuclear and anti-dsDNA antibodies are detectable as early as 8 weeks of age. Proteinuria and kidney pathology (immune complex glomerulonephritis) are found at 16 to 28 weeks of age.

Cat # Mouse strain Treatment/proteinuria score Price
LZ-0200 MRL/lpr Cyclophosphamide-treated (no or mild proteinuria; < 30 mg protein/dL) $ 494
LZ-0201 MRL/lpr Vehicle-treated or naïve (severe proteinuria; > 500 mg protein/dL) $ 686
LZ-0202 MRL/lpr Naïve, 6 to 8 weeks old (no or mild proteinuria; < 30 mg protein/dL) $ 373

Preparation

Blood is immediately collected for serum, organs are collected and snap frozen in liquid nitrogen. Serum is isolated and frozen at -80 °C.

All tissue is stored at -80 °C until shipment.
