Pertussis toxin in glycerol
For enhancement of EAE development
- Provides additional pertussis toxin (PTX) for use with Hooke Kits™ for EAE induction
Supplied in glycerol buffer
This product is for use when more severe EAE is desired. (More severe than the EAE obtained with our EAE induction kits.) For more severe EAE, increase the PTX amount by 20-50% above the dose in the recommended EAE induction protocol.

Detailed contents
Pertussis toxin (PTX) from Bordetella pertussis, in glycerol buffer, 1 vial.
Each vial contains enough PTX to induce EAE in at least 10 mice.
Because PTX potency varies considerably by lot, each vial contains:
Pertussis toxin: 3 to 6 µg (varies by lot)
Concentration: 0.1 to 0.2 mg/mL (varies by lot)
Total volume: 25 to 30 µL (varies by lot)
Lot-specific details (PTX amount, concentration, volume) are supplied with the product.
Turbidty: Translucent

Color: None, clear
Product selection
We recommend this product as an adjuvant for EAE induction in C57BL/6 mice. This is the same PTX supplied with our EAE induction kits for C57BL/6 mice.
Storage & stability
Stable at least 6 months when stored between -20 °C and -40 °C. Do not store below -40 °C.
Administer within 2 hours of resuspension in PBS.
